The Drogba - Shevchenko Connection

I just read that Didier Drogba, top striker right now on Chelsea FC, will stay with Chelsea for the rest of his career, and he has resigned his contract with Chelsea.

What does this mean for Shevchenko? Only the best. The Watford match proved it. I saw the highlights and I have to say, the connection between Drogba and Shevchenko was fantastic in that game. I think it will only get better.

I was one of those people to immediately discredit Shevchenko; he will not do as good in the premiership as he did with AC Milan in Italy. However, after his last match, it seems like the 30-year old Ukranian striker still has something left.

If I'm correct, Shevchenko fed Drogba twice in that 4-0 win over Watford, and Drogba fed Shevchenko once. Will we see more of this connection? Probably. It was just a matter of time before these natural strikers started playing with better chemistry, and enthusiasm.

The key to football is fun. But, no matter how much you try to have fun, when your team is struggling, or you are having a tough time on the field, you won't be having fun. The Warford game showed that there is still some joy for Shevchenko when it comes to football, and he will continue to shine for the Ukranian side, and for Chelsea as well; and with Chelsea, the Drogba and Shevchenko will continue to develop.
